About Us

Since 1995, Darling Downs Transit has been operating in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs Region, commencing with the purchase of the Millmerran to Pittsworth State High School run.

We have steadily grown, and now operate four Queensland Government school bus contracts: Brookstead, Millmerran, Millmerran Woods and Westbrook. Darling Downs Transit has provided quality school charter services for over 20 years, offering dependable and professional transport solutions.

Darling Downs Transit is family owned and operated by John and Janet O'Riordan, with nearly 40 years' experience in the bus and coach industry.

John began his career in the 1980's, as a coach driver conducting tours and charter Australia wide while working for Brisbane Bus Lines. John has always had a passion for the transport industry seeing him work for McCafferty's in the 1980's and again between 2000 and 2005.

This experience has allowed Darling Downs Transit to provide the same level of service as a large company, with the pride and personal approach you can only get from an owner-operator.

Our first bus
This Bedford school bus was purchased with the Millmerran to Pittsworth State High School run during 1995.
